Aileen Grant

Aileen studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and worked for a number of years as a town planner.  She gave up planning to become a full-time artist in 2013 and joined Edinburgh Printmakers the same year.

Aileen's work focuses on landscapes and seascapes.  She draws inspiration from nature and sketches out in the open in all seasons.  Inevitably, with her town planning experience, she also paints urban scenes and man-made structures such as bridges and piers.  Etching is her favourite method of printmaking.

Aileen has exhibited in the RSA Open, RSW Open, Scottish Drawing Competition and at the Inchmore Gallery.  She lives in Musselburgh and spends a lot of time in Wester Ross.
