Solo show; ‘Industrial Shift’ by Bristol based Metalsmith Rebecca Gouldson explores the heritage of our historic industries through Art. The exhibition ‘Industrial Shift’ sees Rebecca take a multidisciplinary approach to the themes, images and objects of historic industry, highlighting the beauty of the often overlooked relics of these industries such as tools, machinery, and industrial architecture, now left abandoned, without their original functional purpose. Using etching techniques more traditionally associated with printmaking, Rebecca makes metal wall pieces and sculptures. The rich metallic surfaces are adorned with etched images derived from photographs, drawings, and found material relating to the exhibition theme.
