Edinburgh Printmakers is delighted to present a special autism-friendly screening of the true-life short film Swan. The screening will be followed by a talk from director Lindsay Brown, in which she'll discuss how the film was created and the ethical decisions she made whilst documenting a vulnerable young woman and her family around her.

Swan
follows the daily life of Sami and her autistic daughter April. It gives the audience a candid insight into their relationship and the struggles involved in raising April. Brown captivates the audience, beautifully portraying April’s world without becoming invasive, emphasising their mother-daughter relationship and the safe, happy space Sami has built for her daughter.

What makes this film truly outstanding is its ability to capture the truly beautiful relationship between April and her mother, managing to emotionally impact the audience in its short fifteen-minute runtime.
