Sarah Young

I was attracted to screenprinting by the creative possibilities that can come from using photographic images and the light sensitive stencil technique.  I am still fairly new to it and enjoying the learning process and trying out different techniques. I have long been interested in photography and am particularly inspired by landscape photography and images of the natural world.

The starting point in my work is the experience of being out in nature in an inspiring environment. I then enjoy the process of evolving the captured images into screenprints through manipulation of the image digitally and in the studio, and playing with colour and light.
