A premiere solo exhibition by the renowned Scottish artist Calum Colvin, which is an archeology of his creative practice from the last 28 years.
This exhibition will focus upon his archive of image transparencies that date back to the early 1980s, and will also include new print editions commissioned and published by Edinburgh Printmakers.
This ambitious project will engage with many aspects of history, creativity, performance, audience participation, and public discourse. A unique form of presentation, including a series of especially constructed light boxes displaying 10 x 8” original transparencies, that will be replaced by other work from the archive at regular intervals, allowing a wide variety of work to be viewed over the course of the exhibition.
Printmaking, mirror stereoscopes, anaglyphs, phantograms and other experimental works will feature, and new work will be created in residence in the exhibition space over the Summer, including painting, construction, and photography.
A limited edition catalogue is available to purchase including new writing by Alan Spence, Fiona Stafford and Tom Normand as well as new prints and limited edition artist multiple for sale.
