Edinburgh Printmakers is delighted to host a talk with Denny Hunter, the founder of Artobotic, Artist and technician at the City Art Centre, Edinburgh. Denny will discuss with us how he conceived of Artobotic, the fine art vending machines, and how the project has developed over the last year.
Artobotic is designed to make art more accessible to the public via the use of vending machines. Artwork by both leading and emerging talent are stacked up together in these machines at random to provide an exciting experience for the customer and a small investment in an artists work for only £10.
Edinburgh Printmakers have worked Denny Hunter to produce a very special Artobotic machine to celebrate Edinburgh Printmakers 50th anniversary, and commemorative semicentennial portfolio From Paper To Gold. Member artists from Edinburgh Printmakers were invited to fill the Artobotic with precious tiny artworks with contributors including David Faithfull, Christine Wylie, Laura Gressani, Robert Powell, Paul Charlton, and Kelly Stewart.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about this inspiring project, and about creative entrepreneurship within the field of contemporary art.
