Appointment of new CEO
Edinburgh Printmakers is delighted to announce the appointment of Shân Edwards as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Shân has gained twenty years of professional experience in progressively senior roles within the arts and culture sectors in London, Scotland, Wales and most recently in the north of England.
In her most recent role as Artistic Director/Chief Executive of The Art House in Wakefield, she positioned the organisation as an exemplar for accessible studio provision, residencies and exhibitions. She also gained a strong reputation for clear artistic vision and a track record of championing diverse artists and audiences. Additionally, she developed a business strategy for 50 accessible workspaces and additional resources including a printmaking studio, a reading room, a self-contained flat, a collaborator space, a gallery, and digital and meeting spaces.
Speaking about her appointment, Shân said:
I am thrilled to be joining Edinburgh Printmakers as CEO at a very exciting time in its development. As a leading organisation with a reputation for ambitious programming and innovation, the relocation to Castle Mill Works presents exceptional new opportunities for learning, production and presentation. I look forward to building on the organisation’s considerable achievements to date, developing programme, partnerships and research, working with artists and supporting contemporary printmaking practice.
Edinburgh Printmakers is in the final stages of its fundraising drive to transform a local heritage building, recently saved from demolition, into a vibrant arts centre. Castle Mill Works is due to open in 2019, with a superior printmaking studio for artists and the public alike to enjoy the art of printmaking, admission-free exhibitions within two new galleries, and a new learning studio to deliver a diverse education programme.
