Wendy McMurdo receives EP Publishing Award at the RSA Annual Exhibition 2020
We are delighted to announce that Wendy McMurdo has been selected as the 2020 recipient of the Edinburgh Printmakers Publishing Award in this year’s RSA Annual.
The award offers Wendy the opportunity to produce a limited-edition print project at Edinburgh Printmakers with assistance from one of the studio master-printers. A testament to Wendy’s talent, she has also been awarded the Art in Healthcare purchase prize.
Wendy McMurdo was born in Edinburgh where she initially studied painting at Edinburgh College of Art. In the late 1980s she moved to New York and to the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and on returning, began to work with photography, which she has done so ever since. In her work (photography, film and new media) she explores the ways in which technology influences early learning. She exploits the artistic possibilities offered by scientific progress in her work and raises questions about the effect new virtual technologies have on human beings.
